The ACD awareness ribbon was designed by ACDA member Raquel Smith, mom to Terrance, and a friend of her husband’s, Jason Davis. The ribbon is inspired by the unoxygenated blood’s transition from blue, to purple, to red as it is oxygenated. Sadly, this is what the lungs of ACD babies are unable to do.
Raquel graciously agreed to allow the ACDA to use the ribbon to increase awareness for ACD. In order to make sure that those who see the ribbon are able to find out more information about ACD, Emily Eschweiler, mom to Joey, and Donna Hanson, mom to Eric, worked with Raquel to add text to the ribbon with the name of the organization and the website.
